The New Flocktail for SS15 – Introducing ‘Flint’

Meet the new addition to the ‘Flocktail‘ Vintage Cocktail Chair Collection for SS15 – ‘Flint’.

With a bold, angular monochrome pattern it certainly makes a statement! The fabric is from the new collection by Flock, and is by designer Gyeongmi Shin. The chairs are all original vintage cocktail chairs, which have been fully restored by our expert upholsterers in Long Eaton, UK. The legs on this model have been completely stripped, and french polished to an ebony colour, to complete the look.

At Florrie+Bill we LOVE restoring vintage cocktail chairs. We simply cannot get enough of them! The curves, the proportions – the attitude! Yes, although they are small they pack a punch in the style stakes in any room setting – especially when covered in colourful Geometric fabrics from Flock Fabrics and Kirkby Design. Aside from the current ‘Flocktail’ collection, we do offer these in your own choice of fabrics and also work with various Interior Design firms to add customer’s own fabrics to. I am delighted to announce that lifestyle store Search & Rescue London are now stocking the Florrie+Bill Flocktail chairs. Search & Rescue is situated in Stoke Newington, London, and stocks a wide range of vintage furniture, homewares and gifts. It has the most fabulous atmosphere and the Flocktails look great against the backdrop of colourful and quirky objects.

If you are in the area why not drop by and view the cocktails chairs in the flesh! They currently have cocktail chairs covered in Flock fabrics ‘Northmore Major’ and ‘Aldgate East Major Mustard’ in stock, but please do ring before visiting as stock may change.

Flocktails at TENT London – LDF

During London Design Festival last month, the Florrie+Bill ‘Flocktails’ were on display at the Flock Textiles stand at TENT London.

The ‘Flocktail‘ cocktail chairs are the collaboration between Florrie+Bill and Flock fabrics.

The chairs looked stunning on the stand, and sat at home amongst the current (and new!) Flock fabric designs. The restored cocktail chairs received a whole load of attention, many lovely comments and some new retail orders (…more about those soon!).

The Flocktails are now available to purchase online at www.florrieandbill.com and are available in five different Flock fabric designs.

Ink & Thread, Derby become first official stockist of Florrie+Bill ’Flock-tails’

I am delighted to announce my exclusive ‘Flock-tail’ chairs are to be stocked at Ink & Thread, Derby from August 2014. Ink & Thread will be the first official stockist of these unique chairs – a collaboration between Florrie+Bill and Flock Fabrics.

Consisting of five designs the ‘Flock-tails’ are a collection of restored vintage 1950′s Danish cocktail chairs that feature beautiful textiles from recent graduate surface designers: Cerys Ackland, Lucy Rainbow and Rachel Parker. The sale of the chairs supports new designers with the graduates maintaining their name on their designs – receiving a royalty for every metre of fabric sold/used within the chairs. An ethos that echoes Ink & Thread’s own aims to celebrate British design, support independent producers and selling something different.

The initial ‘Flock-tail’ collection has been carefully curated, with a focus on geometry and colour. All of the designs are digitally printed in the UK on either 100% linen or sumptuous velvets.

Each vintage chair has been fully stripped back to the hardwood frame and coil sprung seat and has been completely restored. Professionally reupholstered in Long Eaton – using a mix of traditional and modern techniques – they include horsehair stuffed seats with new webbing and foams to add structure to the curved backs and to provide superior comfort and support.

Ink & Thread will be showcasing the ‘Northmore Major by Rachel Parker’ and ‘Aldgate East Minor—Ink by Lucy Rainbow’ in the shop from 2nd August 2104.

All chairs are priced at £595. Each chair is made specially to order. Due to their original vintage nature chairs may vary slightly in size. Approx. dimensions: H: 74cm x W: 61cm x D: 69cm Seat Height: 46cm.
